About Us

Queensland fishing charters - NorvalThe MV Norval is owned by Ron and Marilyn Murphy, and is crewed by skipper Lawrance Norris (Bluey), deck hand Adam and chef Greg all selected for their experience and knowledge of the reefs. The skipper and crew have many years’ experience on the Great Barrier Reef, Whitsundays and the surrounding islands.

We can cater for your needs or plan a tailored trip for you.

The wide back deck offers plenty of space for drift fishing, whilst our 2 dories and our 6 meter south wind allow passengers to spread out and catch a variety of reef fish from smaller reefs, shoals and from the shallows. Deck winches allow for exciting deep water fishing on reef drop offs. During the week, the skipper will ensure you visit a variety of fishing grounds to optimise  the diversity of your catch.

On board passengers can enjoy individual bait/filleting tables and rod holders, a spacious lounge room with video, stereo and DVD, bar facilities, comfortable air-conditioned cabins, 2 showers/ 2 toilets and delicious home cooked meals. All this on board a reliable well maintained vessel!

We offer signature 9 day charter trips to the Swains Reef, or any place you wish to visit. We can even tailor a trip for you and your group over 3,  or 7 days.  Tell us what you want and we will work something out for you! Trips to reefs in the coral sea have become very popular.

Keep your catch! Fishing in the Great Barrier ReefWe operate out of Airlie Beach Whitsundays

From Airlie we fish the top end of the Swains up to Ribbons and T-Line. On the 9 day trips from Airley we go to Marion Reef, Diamond Islets, Flinders Reef also.  These are our signature trips. The isolation of  these reefs  makes for excellent fishing conditions as we can also raise the size limit out there.

These 200 mile trips are becoming more and more popular each year.
