Airlie Beach, Queensland

Airlie Beach is situated on the Queensland coast between Mackay and Townsville, approximately 1100km north of the state capital Brisbane and 600km south of Cairns. It is a highly popular tourism destination for visitors from around the world.

As the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef, Airlie Beach is packed with restaurants, leisure facilities and accommodation for those wishing to extend their stay as part of the Norval Fishing Charters adventure!

 

Getting there

By Air

To get to Airlie there are 3 flights daily to Proserpine Whitsunday Coast Airport from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

You can then cab share to the boat (about a 20 minute drive).

We can arrange for foam eskies for your flight home. The fish is frozen to -35°C and will keep for 48 hours.

 

By Road

The main arterial road that links all the coastal towns in Queensland is the Bruce Highway. Airlie Beach is approximately 20 minutes off the Bruce Highway on Schute Harbour Road.

 

By Rail

Proserpine Railway Station, about 20 minutes drive to Airlie Beach. Queensland Rail offer services from destinations along the coast from Brisbane and Cairns. Buses are available from Prosperpine station to Airlie Beach.

Boarding is at 5pm ready for a 6pm departure. These times can be changed to suit flights. Passengers are welcome to drop off their baggage after 12pm, then enjoy the sights of the Whitsundays in the afternoon.
